Creating a new card game is extremely simple and involves just modifying an old card game to include new rules and regulations. One of the easiest card games to modify is Hearts, which is why it's found in varied forms across the world.

Hearts is essentially a trick taking card game that involves between 3-6 players. For every hand, the cards are dealt once face down around a circle equally. All extra cards are put aside, without the other players seeing it. The player holding the two of clubs makes the first move. After this, each player lays down a card that matches the suit of the card before it. The player who plays the highest card in the suit is considered to take the trick and moves on to the next trick.

The player with the lowest total score at the end of the game is the winner. It is important that a person know the game in and out in order to create a new game. Some new modifications have been added into the game, which include exchanging three cards to the next player. Other modifications that one can add are to make all red cards the scoring cards, instead of the black cards. One can change the points that each card has to spice the game a bit.
